Insulin Resistance & Prediabetes Foundations

A small-group, education-focused program exploring nutrition and lifestyle factors

Program Overview

Insulin Resistance & Prediabetes Foundations is a small-group, education-focused program designed for adults who want to better understand insulin resistance and blood sugar—without extremes, rigid rules, or diet culture.

This short-term guided group experience provides clarity, structure, and practical next steps in a supportive setting, grounded in evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle strategies.

This program is ideal if you:

  • Have been told you have insulin resistance or prediabetes

  • Feel confused by conflicting nutrition advice

  • Want practical guidance that fits real life

  • Are looking for education and support before things progress further

This program is not intended for individuals currently using insulin or sulfonylurea medications, as those needs are best supported through individualized medical care.

What You’ll Learn (Week by Week)

Week 1: Understanding Insulin Resistance

Foundations & clarity

We start by building a shared understanding of what insulin resistance actually is—and what it is not.

Topics include:

  • What insulin resistance means physiologically

  • How blood sugar, insulin, and metabolism are connected

  • Common myths and misconceptions

  • Why insulin resistance develops (including genetics, lifestyle, stress, sleep, and hormones)

Focus: Understanding your body, reducing fear, and setting realistic expectations.

Week 2: Nutrition for Blood Sugar Support

Practical strategies, not rigid rules

This week focuses on nutrition patterns that support blood sugar and metabolic health—without extremes.

Topics include:

  • How different macronutrients affect blood sugar

  • Building balanced meals that support insulin sensitivity

  • Timing, consistency, and flexibility

  • Common pitfalls and why “perfection” backfires

Focus: Creating sustainable, real-life nutrition strategies you can actually maintain.

Week 3: Lifestyle Factors That Matter More Than You Think

Beyond food alone

Blood sugar regulation is influenced by much more than diet. This week explores the non-nutrition factors that play a major role.

Topics include:

  • The impact of sleep and circadian rhythm

  • Stress, cortisol, and nervous system regulation

  • Movement and activity (what helps vs. what doesn’t)

  • Midlife and hormonal considerations

Focus: Identifying the lifestyle levers that make the biggest difference for you.

Week 4: Putting It Together & Next Steps

Clarity, confidence, and direction

The final week is about integration and forward planning.

Topics include:

  • Connecting the dots between nutrition, lifestyle, and blood sugar trends

  • Identifying your personal focus areas

  • Understanding what progress actually looks like

  • Deciding whether additional support or 1:1 care would be helpful

Focus: Leaving with clarity, confidence, and a clear sense of next steps.
